Some Guests view their wedding day as a stage production – they get lost in their own movie and lose sight of what it’s all about. Your wedding day is a day of celebration and meant to be stress-free. Things can and do go wrong, it’s how this is dealt with that ultimately results in a smooth running day. What is important, is spending the day with your partner, time flies by and before you know it, it’s pumpkin time.
Your wedding is no science project, so let go , have fun, take plenty pics and enjoy the day as much as possible.
We are a family run venue and we are all about making your wedding day as special and memorable as possible. From the time we meet you until the moment we say goodbye, you are in our safe and capable hands. Samantha will assist you with all the finer details prior to your wedding day and assist with any questions you may have. Your menu will be finalised with Paul who is our professional chef. The day to day runnings and coordination will be handled by Graham and Grant.

6-12 Months:
Book venue The Nutcracker obviously
Check date with minister
1st Draft of guest list
Scrapbook of ideas – start tearing the pages of those mags
Consider menus on offer
Book photographer – get a good one!
Your Cake – lets us assist you!
Make appointments and try on dresses
Flower ideas
Book reception entertainment – Dj, ensemble etc
4-6 Months:
Prompts groom to look for suits for himself, ushers etc
Order wedding cake
Wedding rings? Very Important Guys
Choose gift list – set-up registry
Start making wedding day favours
Reserve accommodation for guests who require it
Reserve any rental equipment, glassware etc.
First dress fitting
Choose bridesmaids dresses
Book hair and make-up artist
Plan and book honeymoon.
2-4 Months:
Select music readings and confirm minister
Send out invitations and gift list
Finalise honeymoon plans
Have the order of service sheets printed
Write your personalised wedding vows
Schedule wedding rehearsal if necessary
Buy a guest book
Plan hen and stag parties
Buy going away outfit
1-2 Months:
Chase unanswered invites – draw up final list
Finalise seating plan
Final number of guests to venue
Finalise Menu, remember to consider dietary requirements and allergens.
Arrange for final dress fitting and collection date
Finalise transport for the big day
Write thank you notes as people start to buy from your gift list
Give the guys a gentle nudge to start working on their speeches
Hold the hen and stag parties – keep it tidy hey!
2 weeks to go:
Write out place cards or send to be printed
Confirm final numbers again, make the necessary changes to seating plans etc.
Type up list of must take shots for the photographer
Plan honeymoon wardrobe
Remind the guys to have a haircut – if necessary
1 week to go:
Make sure cake is sorted out arrange that all is delivered
Hold wedding rehearsal
Make sure best man has arranged for the return of outfits after the wedding.
Wear in your wedding shoes around the house.
The Day Before:
Help decorate venue – if necessary
Have manicure and Pedicure
Eat a light meal, take a bath with lots of bubbles, have an early night and try to relax.
